There is no group membership, only individuals. This reflects the belief that membership of an organisation does not automatically confer skills and experience on an individual.

“a collaboratory is more than an elaborate collection of information and communications technologies; it is a new networked organizational form that also includes social processes; collaboration techniques; formal and informal communication; and agreement on norms, principles, values, and rules” (Cogburn, 2003, p. 86).
In creating the Snowbird Collabatory we honour Jean Tabaka who suggested the idea of a “Community of Thinkers” along with Liz Keogh and Eric Willike.
Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition
The Snowbird Collabatory will have a number of rules that members must abide by. Failure to follow these rules may lead to excommunication by the Spanish Inquisition.
Initial thoughts are that members of Snowbird should no engage in the following tactics:

- Bullying
- Prejudice
- Cronyism
- Cliques
- Wilful Incompetence
- Over simplification
